You rattled off JJ's stats in this game, and pointed out his mistakes & missteps. Please--I'm begging you, give us the same breakdown of Blake's NBA Finals experiences--please...because you can't.

Just remember--Blake's at home, JJ's playing for a ring. Not much you can argue with there. If Blake was SOOOO much better of an NBA player, he'd be on the court tonight. But he's not.

Is there a worse sport than NBA basketball? I have seen two games in person, including one in madison square garden when the Knicks were relevant, and they have both not been very good.

Ive been to every major sporting event, from horse racing to boxing to hockey, and all most college sports, and none are as bad as an NBA game.

I have no idea why i watched tonight or why i ever watch!

That might quite possibly be the dumbest argument I've ever heard. I guess JJ is better than Lebron too?

Agreed, only good thing about the nba is that you can sit pretty much court side for practically nothing in the regular season.

The officiating sucks, it was horrible tonight.

That still should have been a goal tending call. The rule states if a players hand goes into the net, or cylinder during a shot, it is goal tending. He even was in relief that it wasn't called.

Nope--Lebron played for a ring year before last. Blake's never had that opportunity in the NBA. Players that get to play in crunch time in a championship series are good players. Blake's at home, JJ's on the floor (regardless of performance).

You still haven't rattled off Blake's NBA Finals numbers yet.

Here's a novel thought--Courtney Lee should have made the shot, left no doubt about the outcome. He makes the shot--it doesn't matter if Gasol's hand is in the net/cylinder.

It's a tough shot--but if you want to win the NBA Finals--those are the types of shots you have to make. Instead of blaming goal tending, make the shot. And yes, it could have been called by the letter of the rule--but did it alter the shot at all? Watch the replay--it's highly dubious to say it altered the shot. I don't think NBA officials (who we've all come on here and said have done a bad job) are going to even think about making a goaltending call in the NBA Finals on the last shot of a game with 0.6 secs left.

In all honesty, I have enjoyed the NBA thoroughly over the past 2 seasons. I hated it with a passion for many years prior, but have really enjoyed the games. Bad officiating occurs at every level in every sport. Hell, I watched a Reds game the other day when a game was nearly decided by an interference call at 3b in which the player never touched the guy and there was no interference at all.

As for the goaltending, I would love to hear the sports world today had that game gotten decided on a Gasol goaltend that did not affect the shot whatsoever. As far as I am concerned, the officiating was pretty darn good. Heck, they called three 3-second violations in the first half. Im not sure there were that many violations called all year! They even called a few moving screens in the game. All they needed was one travelling violation and the yearly quota would have been met.
